News from the Christmas term

Whilst the rest of the world were losing their minds, rushing around shops desperately making their way through the ever daunting Christmas list, members of Symphony dance school and associated supporters and followers had the pleasure of two full weekends of dance at the Independent Dance festival of Central England held in Wednesdbury and what an excellent festival it was.

1st Senior A Group Classical Section

Symphony were very well represented across all sections. We would like to congratulate all the children who attended, you can all be very proud of your achievements and know that all your hard work and effort over the weeks resulted in some really beautiful performances. We are very proud of you all.

The festival itself was judged by Ms Helen Vidotti, a graduate of the Phil Winston’s Theatre School. Ms Vidotti was extremely complementary towards many of the Symphony performances and we are grateful for her very constructive feedback and comments.

1st Junior Group Classical Section

Whilst the results of the overall Symphony performances were excellent, with the children achieving first, second or third in most sections, we were particularly proud of the results of the group dances where the children really excelled on the day. The children were scored 1st in the senior A group Classical section, 1st in the senior group Cabaret Section A and 1st in the junior group Classical section. Again, well done everyone, fantastic achievement.

We and the children cannot thank enough, the parents, families and supporters of all the dancers, for not only the support of all the children but the time and effort they put in to supporting our school. The atmosphere at this festival was one of the warmest and friendly we can remember with all the children and parents looking out for one another, managing nerves, make up, and a multitude of costumes. Again we were very proud, it felt like a real team, children enjoying and focusing on their performances whilst having many laughs behind the scenes with their friends.
