Past pupils who have attended our dance courses
Many of our pupils have continued in this wonderful art form, gaining degrees in dance and performance at various universities or studying at vocational dance schools. These are just a few of them:
Abigail Whittington gained a degree in Dance Performance from Middlesex Performing Arts University. Abigail has performed in many dance companies, in a number of these her talent, passion and dedication lead to her gain the role of Dance Captain.
Another of our pupils, Claire Calvert, went on to study at The Royal Ballet School and is now part of the Royal Ballet Company and still performing. Our most recent pupil to be accepted at a vocational school is Rosie Bond who will be studying at London Studio Centre from September.
A large number of our pupils also have gone on to teach and even open their own dance schools. At 18 Katie McNamee went on to work on various cruise liners where she gained the opportunity to travel the world. She is now part of the creative team at WODYS where she helps choreograph the annual show. A lot of symphony students are also WODYS members and I can tell a symphony student a mile off from their beautiful technique, style and performance.
Fiona Ridge gained performing experience before going on to gain teaching qualification in many forms of dance. For over a decade Fiona has run her own very successful dance school.
Vicky Shone and Karen Roberts have both gained various teaching qualifications, with Karen now running her own school and Vicky teaching at various schools in Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.
“Symphony Dance School gave me the love of dance….”
Symphony Dance School gave me the love of dance, which I now get to pass onto my own students. I’m now excited that my daughter has just started her own journey and love for dance with Miss Sarah and Miss Denny at Symphony.
“Nothing short of phenomenal…”
This year’s ballet summer school was the best performance so far. It was absolutely mesmerising, we loved every minute and the costumes were fantastic. Thank you so much to Miss Sarah, Miss Denny, Miss Vicky and of course Miss Barbara. Four of us attended the show to watch my two daughters dancing (me, my husband, and two grandparents) and none of us could believe the girls hadn’t learnt any of the dances before the week started. The amount of choreography taught perfectly to the girls in such a short space of time was nothing short of phenomenal.
“A massive part of my life growing up…”
Symphony Dance School was such a massive part of my life growing up,my fondest childhood memories are from festivals, summer schools and classes spent there. Miss Denny,Miss Sarah and Miss Barbara were so supportive and had created a school that felt like a family.
“Passion and quality of teaching…”
Being able to travel the world and perform has been an ambition of mine for a long time. I am extremely grateful to the teachers of Symphony, Miss sarah and Miss Deny, without their passion and quality of teaching I wouldn’t be where I am today.
“Honesty, integrity, fairness and community spirit….”
I have had my own dance school for over a decade and have always tried to run it the same way I was taught – with honesty, integrity, fairness and community spirit.
